Abyss Eels

Abyss Eels is a glowing .io-style survival game set in a bioluminescent deep-sea arena. You are a small neon eel in a huge circular ocean, swimming among a crowd of rival eels with human-style nicknames. Eat drifting plankton to grow longer, climb the live leaderboard and become the biggest, brightest eel in the deep. It all runs offline in your browser, with no sign-up and no lag: tap Dive and you are in. Steering is effortless. Drag a finger or move the mouse and your eel swims toward it. Need speed? Hold the bolt button, press with a second finger, or hold the mouse button or Space to boost. Boosting is fast but it burns your own mass, leaving a trail of glowing crumbs behind you, so spend it wisely to escape a bigger rival or to race across the path of a smaller one. The core rule is simple: if your head touches another eel's body, you burst into glowing food. Swim in front of a rival so that they crash into you, then feast on the shower of plankton they leave behind. The computer-controlled eels hunt food, flee from larger eels, try to cut you off and get a little smarter as you grow, so the challenge scales with you. Stay away from the glowing boundary of the map, it is deadly. Every run earns XP that raises your level and unlocks new cosmetic eel patterns, from lantern stripes and coral freckles to prismatic rainbows and the shimmering Abyss King. If you are swallowed you can watch a short optional video once per run to return with half of your mass. Your best score and unlocked skins are saved on your device. It suits quick breaks and long high-score chases alike.
